Attendance and Missed Lessons

Arrival & Tardiness:
Students should arrive on time and bring all required materials.
Students should arrive no more than 2–3 minutes before their scheduled lesson time. Early arrivals may interrupt the previous student’s lesson and cannot be accommodated.
Late Arrivals: Lessons will not be extended to accommodate late arrivals. Missed time due to tardiness will not be made up, credited or refunded.
Reschedule Policy: Students are eligible for one reschedule every two months with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability.
Rescheduled lessons must take place within the same month.
Unused reschedule allowances do not roll over and are non-refundable.
Additional reschedules are not available, including for travel, school events, extracurricular activities, or illness.
Travel & Absences:
Tuition reserves a weekly lesson time and is not adjusted for personal travel or vacations.
Planned absences are subject to the same reschedule policy outlined above, including the one-reschedule-per-two-months limit..
Teacher Absences: If the instructor is unable to teach a scheduled lesson, a rescheduled lesson will be provided.
Occasional exceptions may be made at the instructor’s discretion as a courtesy and do not establish an ongoing exception to studio policies.
Practice & Instrument Guidelines
Practice Expectations: Consistent, focused practice is essential for musical progress. Students are expected to practice at least 4 times per week.
Beginners: Aim for 10–15 minutes of focused practice daily.
Intermediate/Advanced: Practice time will increase gradually based on the student’s level and goals.
Parents are encouraged to support younger students by helping them build a regular practice routine and maintaining a positive learning environment at home.
Instrument Requirements: To support effective learning, students must have access to an appropriate instrument at home.
An acoustic piano (upright or grand) is strongly recommended. Regular tuning twice a year is advised to maintain sound quality.
A fully-weighted, touch-sensitive 88-key digital keyboard is acceptable for beginners. However, students should transition to an acoustic piano as they advance.
The right instrument is critical for developing proper technique, tone, and musical expression.
